CHS inducted eight high-achieving music students into Tri-M Music Honor Society with a special ceremony held in their honor on October 23. Chatham's chapter of this national organization is sponsored by the Fine Arts Booster Club and advised by CHS band teacher Molly Johnson. To be eligible for Tri-M, students need to have a cumulative grade-point average of 85 or higher, with 90 or higher in their music classes. The majority of our inductees have also participated in extracurricular music activities such as All-County, Area All-State, the NYSSMA Solo & Small Ensemble Festival, or the school musical. This year, the ceremony included speaker Sadie Kratt, a graduate of Chatham High School's music program now working as an environmental engineer in the Albany area, who spoke about how graduates can keep music in their lives even if it isn't their major in college.
